HEAD FIRST STUDIOS

Head First Studios is an independent, remote-first game studio based in Brussels. We build strategy games for players who like strange worlds, deep systems, and the occasional glorious aberration.


Our current project is Divine Ambition, a narrative-driven physics strategy game for PC.

​We test ideas early. We accept mistakes. We challenge each other directly. We would rather make something unusual and meaningful than something safe and forgettable.


Our culture is built around three principles: art with a message, healthy disagreement, and autonomy within a structure.

Art with a message​

​We want to make games that carry meaning. We welcome experiments, oddities, and failed attempts in pursuit of something worth remembering.

Healthy disagreement​

​Good work survives honest criticism. We separate people from ideas, challenge the work directly, and commit once a decision is made.

Autonomy within structure​

​We are fully remote and international. People choose how they work best, while staying aligned through ownership, documentation, mentorship, and clear sprint goals.

Remote-first by design.​

​Head First Studios works across countries, schedules, disciplines, and cultures. We care less about being visibly busy and more about making work that moves the game forward.


Clear writing, focused work, async updates, mentor support, and honest feedback are part of how we operate.

​Our founders, Charles and Karel, began as two sides of the same brain: one drawn to structure, the other to imagination. But a studio is more than two hemispheres.


Every statue head on this page represents one of the people shaping Head First Studios: artists, programmers, designers, composers, researchers, producers, and storytellers. Together, we are building Divine Ambition.
